

Michael Cantow
Michael Cantow, the 6’2” 245-pound three time Varsity letterman, is one of Mahwah’s four captains. He has plenty of experience having been part of the North 1 Group 2 state championship teams in both 2015 and 2016. Michael received 2016 all-league honors at guard for his outstanding play. He was also named a 2017 NorthJersey.com Top 50 Player to Watch, a list of leading athletes across all sports. This year, he plays both ways as offensive guard and defensive nose tackle. Off the field Michael is one of Mahwah’s top students receiving the Thunderbird Scholar Award throughout his high school career for achieving 90 or above in every class. His rigor in the classroom is as tough as on the field already completing 13 Honors and 4 AP classes. Currently he is taking all AP classes including multi variable calculus. He plans to go onto college with a major in Computer Engineering.
Michael gives back to the community in many ways including:

Tutoring students with the National Honor society

Working on the Little Ferry Police PAL annual holiday toy drive and helping brighten underprivileged children holiday’s through volunteer work at the New Jersey State Department of Children and Family Services Adopt a Child holiday program

Volunteering at the Mahwah youth football camp teaching young athletes skills, safety, sportsmanship and love of the game
