Alec Peltekian

 

​Alec Peltekian, the 5’10” 205-pound three time Varsity letterman, is one of Mahwah’s four captains.  He has plenty of experience having been part of the North 1 Group 2 state championship teams in both 2015 and 2016.  Alec was named to the 2016 New Jersey Super Football Conference American Division All-League team for his outstanding play.  This year, he plays both ways at Middle Linebacker defensively and lines up all over the backfield on offense.    Alec also plays varsity baseball for Mahwah and named first team All-League as well as Honorable Mention All-Bergen County.  He spends part of his summers competing in the Eastern Region Homenetmen Armenian Olympics.

 

Off the field, Alec is a great student recognized as a National Honor Society Candidate and is a member of the French National Honor Society.  Alec has drawn interest from football coaches at several of the top academic institutions in the country including in the Ivy League and the NESCAC conferences.  He plans to go onto college to pursue a pre-medicine curriculum.

 

Alec gives back to the community in many ways including:

 

  • Volunteering at the Mahwah youth football camp to teach young athletes skills, safety, sportsmanship and love of the game

  • Coaching at the Field of Dreams program where he instructed special needs children in baseball

  • Leading several youth organizations at the Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Church
