

Sam Mintz
Sam Mintz, the 5'9” 160-pound two time Varsity letterman, is one of Mahwah’s four captains. He has plenty of experience having been part of the North 1 Group 2 state championship teams in both 2015 and 2016. Sam received 2016 first team all-league honors for his outstanding play as a running back. This year he is honored as a 2017 News12 Varsity Top 100 Players to Watch. Going both ways, he plays running back on offense and corner back on defensive. Sam also plays varsity basketball and is captain of the varsity lacrosse team.
Off the field Sam is one of Mahwah’s top students receiving many Scholastic Awards throughout his high school career. He is also a member of the Spanish Honor Society. His rigor in the classroom is as tough as on the field already completing 10 Honors classes and AP Psychology. Currently he is taking multiple advanced classes including AP Economics, AP Statistics and AP Calculus. Numerous top academic college football programs are pursuing Sam. He plans to go onto college to pursue an Arts and Science curriculum.
Sam gives back to the community in many ways including:

Volunteering at the Mahwah youth football camp to teach young athletes skills, safety, sportsmanship and love of the game

Volunteering at the Mahwah All Star Basketball clinic teaching special needs children fundamental skills such as shooting, passing and dribbling
