
Christopher Diaz
Chris Diaz is Mahwah High School head football coach. He leads a program rich with a tradition of success both on and off the field. He was a standout linebacker for Mahwah and a strong team leader. Chris graduated Mahwah in 2001 and went onto Kean University where he earned a degree in education propelling him to teach at Ramapo Ridge Middle School. In addtion to Head Coach Chris is also defensive coordinator,
Chris took over as Mahwah’s defensive coordinator in 2005 and helped drive Mahwah to an incredible streak of eight playoffs appearances with two state championships. Chris took over as head Coach in 2017 when Coach Remo retired.
Chris is just the fourth coach in Mahwah school history succeeding Coach Jeff Remo. Chris played for Jeff who is a 20-year Mahwah coach. Truly living “Tradition does not graduate” Jeff was also a standout Mahwah player winning two state championships. Jeff succeed Coach Ed Caporale who coached Mahwah for 33 years. Jeff was a water and ball boy for Coach Caporale
